I am a sneakerhead episode 156 - @Danhess13
My name is Danial Hession, I am 37 years old and I'm from Solihull just outside Birmingham in the UK. I'm a true US13 although I can wear some models in a US12/12.5. I've been into sneakers as long as I can remember. When I was in primary school it was almost a competition to see who could wear the latest sneakers first, our parents must of hated us!! The first pair i really remember was a pair of Puma Disc Blaze OG (orange and blue) when they first released in '93'. I was super scared to play football in the playground in case i somehow broke the "Disc" system!!!
I'm into runners and mostly wear Nike, Asics, New Balance and Diadora, I love anything that has those early 90's retro runner vibes. My favourite models are the Air Max 1 and Gel Lyte III.
The top 3 pairs in my collection currently are:
1. Air Max 1 x Patta Chloro which is my ultimate grail and the pair that reignited my passion for sneakers and got me collecting again after i saw my brother with a pair.
2. Diadora x Limited Editions N9000 "Casteller" which in my eyes the ultimate collab! Colourway/blocking is perfect, materials are A+++++ and the theme is awesome.
3. A toss up between the Asics x Ronnie Fieg Gel Lyte III "Flamingo" or "Leatherback". You just can't beat Ronnie's collabs from the late 00's/early 10's.
In an ideal world I’d love to add the Parra Air Max 1 "Cherrywood" to my collection. It's a pair I’ve been chasing a long time and never really gotten close to adding. As the years go on the chances get slimmer but never say never right? Other than that, any runner heat in big boy sizes!
The one thing I’d probably change about the sneaker community would be the resell aftermarket. It makes getting any pair almost impossible and costs true sneaker enthusiasts lots of extra cash. I also think we get way too many releases nowadays watering down the definition of "collab" or "Limited Edition". I loved the days when we would have 1/2 big releases a month or sometimes even less. It made it truly special!
