I am a sneakerhead

I am a sneakerhead episode 40 - @Jf13nd

My name's Jason, I also go by @jf13nd on Instagram where I post release info for upcoming runners. I live in the United States, Northern New Jersey to be specific. Luckily I'm right near New York City, as well as one of the most historic boutiques in the entire county, Packer Shoes, so when I'm not studying my ass off I can go camp out there and places like Kith for limited releases.

I was sneaker shopping in middle school in the early 2000s, probably around 2004 or 2005, and a pair of Air Max 1s caught my eye. I started buying Air Maxes and other runners as my regular shoes after that, and it steadily progressed into an obsession. I moved on from Nike to ASICS, and other runners.

I've really been collecting for about 8 years. I wish I'd had time in my high school years to grab some of the early Gel Lyte III, GT-II, Gel Saga, and Gel Lyte Speed collabs, as well as some of the early 1500 collabs when Solebox, SNS, Colette/La MJC, and Crooked Tongues were really churning out gems.

The community of sneakerheads is amazing. It's why I run my page. I love to keep people up to date on the latest releases. I've met some really gracious and amazing people doing it. It's really humbling. It was just something I decided to do for fun that took off. I honestly never expected anyone to pay attention, and even if they hadn't I'd probably still have put in the same level of dedication, because it was for the people, not for the follower count.

I really love my special edition Packer Shoes x ASICS Gel Lyte III "Dirty Bucks", the execution is just flawless and I camped almost two days for them. I love the Afew "Koi", HAL "Bricks", and the CNCPTS "Embers" as well. There's a bunch of pairs I'm chasing right now where I'm just waiting for the right price, but I think that's probably the case with all of us.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Epsilon Magazine for giving me this opportunity. It's really humbling and I never would've imagined something like this happening when I started collecting all those years ago. Thank you so much!
