I am a sneakerhead

I am a sneakerhead episode 96 - @Turnschuhjosi

Hey sneaker junkies! My Name is Dario, IG @turnschuhjosi, I am 31 years old, was born in Germany, grew up in Italy and back in Germany (close to Frankfurt) again since around 20 years . US9,5.

The shoe addiction started back in 1993/1994, when my parents bought me the LA Gear “LIGHT GEAR”. From then on I’ve been walking through the streets with a bowed head, always looking for shoes. When we moved to Germany, I had a classmate who had the most wanted sneakers for that time ( Nike Huaraches, Reebok pumps, Reebok ES22s, Adidas EQT), but for me they were unreachable. Around 2000 I started skating and lost a little the attention for sneakers, but destroyed a lot of mudguards on Airwalks, Etnies and éS.

2008 when a friend of mine got a pair of Asics Gel Lyte III (Mint/Pink) in his hands, I asked him if I could try them on, he sold them for 60€ and I felt in love with Asics, this love lasted till last year, the 25th anniversary, that was too much for me. Now I just own a few GLIII, GLV and Sagas.

In the meantime, as I am Italian in my heart, I started with Diadora, first with a GR, the N9000 NYL (red/grey), and was really impressed by the shape and comfort. The first collaboration I’ve purchased was the N9000 x Solebox “Ferro” and I became hooked on Diadora. By the way I am still looking for the blue United Arrows, the Brown A Ma Maniere and the silver Social Status ;) The sneaker culture perfectly reflects the anything-goes Ideal of today, for everything and every event there's the right shoe. To no clothing there is so much fuss like in sneakers. They express mood, attitude, mindset. Define membership and community. Any good sneaker also tells a story.

The pairs I own and like most are:

24 Kilates x Diadora N9000 "Sombra"

Hanon x Diadora N9000 "Saturday Special"

St. Alfred x Asics Gel yte III "Lake Shore"

Patta x Diadora N9000 "Colonel Blue"

Cncpts x Asics Gel Lyte V "Ember"

...ferro...notti...novelle peach...sage...intercity...I can't stop ;)
