Correfocs, where are you?

Correfocs , where are you? More than one month after the official release at LimitEDitions in Barcelona, many collectors are going on to ask who got so lucky to cop the precious pair. On a (maybe the most important) Facebook Diadora group, it’s one of the main topics yet.

Let’s sum up what happened till now. LimitEDitions, a sneaker store in Barcelona famous for one of the most hyped collaborations with Diadora (the Castellers), announced a new partnership with the Italian brand that immediately got the attention of all the collectors. Following the storytelling of the first beloved pair, they made a red and black N9000 in a premium mesh, suede and plain leather. As the previous ones, also these shoes took inspiration from a Catalan tradition, the La Merce Festival. A great teasing video made all Diadora fans more enthusiast, waiting for the realease as a kid for Christmas.

What happened then wasn’t so clear. LimitEDitions posted the release way on his website and on the social medias: just 400 pieces available, an event on September 23rd for a private launch (just “loyal customers” who had already bought the Castellers they said) and, after that, e-mails sent to the greatest Diadora collectors chosen by the store staff. The great question is on this last point: in fact many renowned Diadora lovers have never been contacted by the store.

When in Barcelona some weeks ago, the author of this article (who couldn’t define himself as “one of the greatest”) decided to visit the store and to personally ask about the release. About three pairs are in the window, not for sale. Inside a bored guy answered to my question telling that all of them were sold out and that the remaining pairs had been already allocated and the mails not sent yet to the lucky “winners”. The question is: who are they?

Sometimes some guys posted pics of their Correfocs on Instagram, but it looks like the 400 pairs aren’t all in the hands of their owners. The last chapter of this grotesque story was a photo posted by a famous American reseller with one of the super hyped grails: the protest exploded on some Facebook groups but, same old story, nobody from LimitEDitions has explained the situation.

It’s difficult understanding why often being transparent is so complicated. So we try to ask them once more: where are the Correfocs
