Interview with SneakerScreens

My name's Tom, a 26 year old Digital Content Designer based out of East London, and this is my latest project, SneakerScreens. The name first came about in 2015, producing sneaker wall art out of university. I love messing around with sneaker design in my (limited) spare time, so SneakerScreens has evolved to become a platform to showcase whatever I'm working on.

How do you come up with the ideas for your creations?

I guess my motivation is to make people look twice. My style is photo realistic, so if your initial impression is "oh wow are they actually real?!", then I'll be happy with that! Currently I'm showcasing iconic colour ways, on alternative silhouettes, just to show what could have been.

What is your favorite collaboration of any brand?

Such a difficult question man! Favourite I've owned is either the Bait x Asics Gel Saga "Phantom Lagoon', or the UBIQ x Saucony Grid 9000 "Dirty Martini". The NB 1500 is my no.1 shoe though, so favourite ever is probably the Solebox Nazar Eye version.

If you were to design your own shoe, which would it be and why?

Well the base would have to be an NB 1500. I'm sure I could come up with a thousand different colour ways that I'd like, but I've settled on this. Teal blocking, bright red hints, on a "sporty" white sole. These would bang if you ask me!
