Woei x Asics Gel Lyte III "Vintage Nylon" release recap
Yesterday was the 10 years anniversary of Woeï shop in Rotterdam, Netherlands
For the occasion, they released the « Vintage Nylon » Asics Gel Lyte 3 in a special packaging limited to 200 pieces (including the shoes and a matching jacket).
After seeing the first pictures online, my friends and I to hit the road and attend the release of this very special pair.
We drove from France to Netherlands on Friday the 3rd of November and arrived in this wonderful city of Rotterdam after a 7hours long drive.
Rolling through the streets we discovered this stunning city full of modern and atypical architecture.
We finally reach the campout at 7 pm, a few people were there already, holding a list to make sure the camp goes well and stay organized. At this time, only 35 persons were on the list including us.
That was my first camp ever, and after some of the stories from French campouts, I was a bit worried. My doubts were gone instantly after I saw how well this one was organized. A call is made every 3 hours to make sure everyone is there. if you miss the call, your name is out of the list instantly. Between the calls we had a chat with the locals, eat to reload the batteries and mainly sleep to recover from the trip.
The shop opened his doors at 11 am the Saturday morning, we finally had the chance to discover the well-expected pair. The shoe is made of a nice suede on the upper, the toebox is made of nylon and there are touches of 3m here and there. The details are very nice like the co-branding on the tongue, the Woeï logo on the heel tab and also the tiger stripes made like St Alfreds Lakeshore ones. The Vintage Nylon comes with 4 different laces. The colorway is dope, it clearly reminds the 80’s era. I am also very satisfied as there is absolutely no glue stains on the shoe!! Without any doubts it’s the best pair of Asics released this year.
All the special boxes were sold during the day but the remaining pairs in the regular boxes will be available on the webshop this Monday. Also, a worldwide release is planned later this month (18th of November)
