My name is Rachel, I am 26 years old and I have been doing photography for 3 years. I am self taught and I absolutely love how photogenic London is, it was the perfect city to begin learning photography. I have a passion for long exposure photography, and waking up early to see the sun rise and staying out to see the sun set. I also love landscapes and road trips to the mountains. I love dark, moody clouds or a vibrant, colourful sky.

What equipment do you use for your photos?

I use a Canon 5D Mark III with various lenses, a tripod, filters and a remote shutter release.

How and where do you find inspiration for your work?

I love the history of London; old landmarks like Big Ben and Tower Bridge and new Landmarks like the Shard and the Scalpel, the contrast of old and new just blocks away from each other. I like to capture the landmarks with a beautiful, colourful sunrise/sunset sky, or the city coming alive at night when all of the lights switch on. I enjoy searching for a new viewpoint of the city. Also, I love Christmas in London, the decorations across the city make it even more photogenic.

Do you have any favorite location to take pictures at?

My favourite location in London has to be Tower Bridge, in particular the view from London Bridge facing Tower Bridge with the sun rising in the background. My favourite location outside of London has to be Iceland. The island as a whole is incredibly photogenic and I am very excited to get back there with my camera and drone in October.

What is your all-time favourite picture?

My all time favourite photo has to be the Milky Way over Durdle Door in Dorset, the stars were so bright and the milky way so visible in the sky, we could even see shooting stars. It was an incredible experience.
