Above The Clouds x Asics GT-2160
This was my personal favorite out of their 4 designs. I've been looking forward to this cw & the white one since they leaked shortly after their Green pair. Truthfully, this was a pretty solid Collab, but my favorite is definitely this pair, followed by the OG, then white, & lastly burgundy.
Materials: starting at the mudguard, there's a black, synthetic leather panel that transitions into a dark grey panel w/ a checkered pattern throughout it. Beneath the paneling is a translucent ripstop, that isn't as see-thru, imo, as the previous pairs & kinda has a more solid shade to it if that makes any sense. Whatever they did, it worked really well on this pair. Moving to the stripes, there's a TPU panel that wraps to the back heel and finishes off w/ a GT2160 logo & sits on top of a black, big hole mesh. As for branding, there is no Above the Clouds branding on these, but there is an Asics logo on the tongue, an A logo at the bottom of the lace cage, & lastly on the back heel, there's the word 'Gel'.
Comfort/Sizing: the 2160 comfort is similar to the Gel-Nimbus 9 & kayano 14 but not as soft as the Kayano 14. It has a squishy feel on foot but also has a feeling of firmness & stability as well. In terms of sizing, I got these in a size 8 & they honestly fit me pretty well.
Overall Opinion: like I stated previously, I personally like this pair the most out of the previous designs. Idk why, but in hand, the translucent mesh works the best on this colorway & makes it the most wearable. These were released recently and are currently available online via @drifthouse .
