Action Bronson x New Balance 990v6 'Baklava'
I think the thing that attracted me the most to this sneaker was the meaning & passion that went into this Collab. Sometimes people get collabs and they lose their meaning behind them. With this being the 1st V6 collab & AB's first NB Collab, it felt like a piece of history.
Materials: the materials on this sneaker were beautifully chosen. The brown suede is almost like a tawny brown & it wraps around the entire upper. The suede is very soft to touch and is comparable to the suede used on the jjjjound 992. My favorite feature is the blue outsole. It goes from a soft baby blue to a deep blue, & it really blew me away when I got them in hand. Next would be the highlighter yellow mesh, which has a decent pop to it, but can be toned down with the right pants imo. Last thing I want to mention is that the majority of the sneaker is covered in 3m, which imo, adds to the story of a "sports car" atleast in my mind lol idk. Overall, the material quality was really nice.
Comfort/Sizing: When I think of fuelcell, I imagine a very bouncy & responsive ride, but for ME, this had a perfect mixture of stability & bouncy & they really did an amazing job. Idk how they did it, but I find the 990v6 way more comfortable than the v5. The best way I could describe it, is imagine a V3 or fuelcell model & add stabilization and that is to me is the v6. In terms of sizing I got these in a 7.5 & they fit me perfectly. Essentially, stick to your same 990 sizing.
Overall Opinion: When I think of Action Bronson, I think of a guy who's making the most out of life and living his dream. I truly feel like a lot of passion and love went into this collab & that's what won me over. Idk, for this to be his first NB & first Collab on a v6, it just feels like they went all out and Bronson told his story of his life through them, which is pretty awesome and something you don't see too often anymore. The materials are premium, the comfort is spot on, & given it's going to be a piece of NB & AB history one day, I wouldn't sleep bc it seemed to be pretty limited.
