END x Adidas Gazelle Indoor 'Laundromat'
End is a company that has always had solid rollouts that are always either hilarious to watch or spot on & meaningful. With this pair, it plays into accidentally putting a red sock in a white load of laundry & I gotta say, the finished product is literally as spot on as you can make it. While making the storyline fun, they were also able to go all out in materials which made this a must have in my rotation.
Materials: starting at the toe cap, there's a dark 🩷 suede that feels very premium & soft to touch, but what I found unique was the choice of 🤍 stitching that they used on this design, which imo, gave a nod to the original 🤍 & 🩶 color that these would have if there wasn't a ♥️ sock that snuck in the wash 😵💫😂. Moving to the base of the sneaker, they used a somewhat faded 🩷 suede that also has a very premium & soft feeling to it. As you make it to the back heel, there's a 🤍 nubuck with a debossed metallic silver END logo on the ➡️ pair & trefoil logo on the ⬅️. Moving to the inside, you'll find a co-branded insole in 🤍 w/ a blurry 🩷 print, followed by a 🤍 terry cloth, similar to a towel, used on the ankle collar. Moving to the tongue, there's a 🤍 big hole mesh that finishes off w/ a tongue tag in the shape of a wash tag (same as a T-shirt). On the tag, you'll see the adidas logo on the top, then when you flip it around, you'll find more end & Adidas cobranding, & the phrase, "wash w/ care" & "designed in Newcastle" in closing, I really feel like they hit this design right on the money 🎯
Comfort/Sizing: imo, these have less arch support then a GR Gazelle due to the branding on the insole. The gazelle, is a pretty flat to the ground shoe, similar to a samba. For sizing, I'd recommend going tts if possible.
Overall Opinion: from the concept to finished product, this really feels like a 1to1 design of accidentally washing your 🤍 clothes w/ a darker color lol. This has happened to me & it sucks 🤣, but in this case, in came out pretty dope.
For those looking to pick up a pair, they're now available at @endclothing. Thank you for sending these over to review. Much love ♥️
