Hartcopy x Adidas BW Army
I'm really impressed with how nice the materials are on these tbh. I've always really enjoyed simple designs with high quality materials & subtle branding sprinkled throughout the design. With this being Hartcopy's first collab with Adidas, they did a really nice job with these.
Materials: as mentioned previously, the materials are where this sneaker really shines. The base of this sneaker is a soft, white leather that has a premium & durable feel to touch. On the toe cap, they used a white nubuck that has a subtle grey hue to it, which imo adds a nice subtle contrast to the toe (They also used the same nubuck on the back heel). The tongue is a subtle feature but the leather they used on the tongue is probably the best leather used on this model. It's very soft to touch & at the edges of the tongue it has an exposed foam which is a really nice touch. Inside the sneaker, they used a soft leather sock liner & threw in a leather insole w/ Hartcopy & adidas branding on it. The subtle branding has the hartcopy "squiggle" pattern embroidered in red. This feature is what they use on their book covers (photo 2). On the right shoe it's on the eye stays & the left it's on the beginning of the mudguard. Small detail, the tags & tag on the box they added little tags as if it was from an adidas sample vault, which is 🔥. Overall, I was impressed with how nice these were in hand & glad they showed out on their 1st adidas Collab 🏆.
Comfort/Sizing: these are pretty similar to the adidas samba in terms of comfort & staying true to that flat to the ground feel. I'd say these are pretty much identical but maybe a tad bit more supportive on foot. In terms of sizing, I got these in a 7.5US (half down tts) and they truly fit me perfectly. If you want room, go tts.
Overall Opinion: If you're the type of person who likes subtle branding & premium materials, then I think you'll like this design a lot. I've always enjoyed wearing subtle CWs & collabs that give a IYKYK vibe. Idk why, but I enjoy wearing stuff like that & those designs usually really shine with high quality materials. If you're able to find a pair, I'd check em out.
