JFG x New Balance 990v6 'From Prom to Paris'

With this review, I wanted to focus more on the story of what I saw as I took everything & held both pairs together in hand, rather than the colorway itself. What looks like a blue & red shoe, has some deeper layers the more you look over them. I personally really enjoyed the blue pair in hand & tbh, the red pair looks a bit different in hand than on camera, but I tried to capture these in a realistic way (except the first pic, I let the pop from the lighting shine 😂)

Materials: both pairs are essentially the same but w/ different colorways, however, the red pair has a lot more contrast imo. The toe cap is a soft, premium suede that wraps around the bottom half of the 👟. Above the suede is a panel in a lighter shade of baby blue that wraps beneath the N logo & across the toe box. The N logo is the same shade of blue as the suede, but w/ a 3m hit (the 3m has a bit of blu-ish tint & the red pair has a bit of a red tint). You'll find more 3m on the top eyelet, at the ⬇️ of the lace cage & on the back heel. Also on the back heel, you'll find the jfg logo w/ 'Made for Us' beneath it. This in itself is a subtle flex bc I don't think I've seen the NB logo removed entirely, ever... Idk why, but that feels like a heavy & meaningful statement bc made me feel like this was a statement for his journey & how much this meant for Joe & where he came from. Regarding the rest of the branding, on the tongue tag, there is more jfg branding on a soft (kinda) felt material, idk how to describe it lol. Lastly, the insole. It has a somewhat shiny effect & feels really soft, but also, there's a jfg logo on the ⬅️ pair & nb on the ➡️.Overall, what looks like a simple colorway, kinda felt like a subtle flex & trophy in his already solid lineup.

Comfort/Sizing: the 990v6 has a somewhat bouncy feel w/ a nice responsive & plush feeling on foot & is an easy choice for everyday wear. For sizing, I went half down from my tts (7.5) & these fit perfect, I'd recommend the same. even though in reality, these look like blue & red shoes, these gave me the feeling that this was flex to show how far this journey has come. What started with bootleg sneakers, to one of the most sought after 992s, to collabing with the brand he bootlegged⭐ 😂. The success has been undeniable. Even with the story from prom to Paris, each pair has a meaningful story to tell. For the colorways, I personally prefer the blue pair, but the red is nice if you prefer louder colors.
