jjjjound x Salomon XT Wings-2
I was pretty excited to get these in because my first pair of Salomons were an all white pair of these. It's cool to see the model get some more love since the END Collab.
Materials: The majority of the upper is a cream color with hits of white and blue on synthetic stripes on the medial & lateral side. The area on the toe is a somewhat firm & rubber like material, which is nice given the sneaker's true purpose. There is very minimal jjjjound branding & it is located on the inner side of both sneakers, as well as the insole. I feel like if you look at Salomon's aesthetic, jjjjound did a good job keeping the colorway simple. Overall, I feel like the actual colorway is pretty clean, but emphasizes the minimalist aspect of jjjjound as a whole.
Comfort/Sizing: I personally feel like the xt-wings 2 is more forgiving from a width standpoint than xt6. It has a nice stable feeling on the heel, but as you move down your foot, it has a softer & more squishy feel. I personally feel like this model molds to your feet & has a nice arch support. I personally find it pretty comfortable overall. For sizing: I bought these in a size 8 & they fit me perfectly. If you have a slightly wide or a wide foot go up a half size due to the narrow shape.
Overall Opinion: I think it's cool that Salomon came back to the xt wings 2 since their previous collab with END. I personally find this model to be more comfortable than xt-6, but I may be biased. This model was my first pair of Salomon's bc the xt6 had a ton of hype at the time & stuff sold out quick. I almost feel like this design was a subtle flex on jjjjound's end by putting his logo (where it can't be seen) on an unpopular Salomon model & watching people lose it lol. I will say that the colorway is really clean, but it's been pretty crazy to watch the success of jjjjound & how they have just exploded over the years.
If you made it this far, thank you for taking time out of your night to read my thoughts. Thank you for your continued support & thank you for your patience with this review.
