New Balance 990v6 'Grey Day'

The colorblocking on this model is amazing. The way the colors contrast against each other make this my personal favorite Grey Day pair to release over the years.

Materials: the majority of the upper consists of mesh & some hits suede that wrap around the lower half of the shoe. Essentially, below the N logo, there is a soft grey suede that wraps around the entire sneaker. The suede feels the same as the OG grey 990v6, which imo, is soft to touch & has a nice color change to it overall. On the medial & lateral parts of the sneaker it has this synthetic & perforated material that is in a Navy color. Lastly, the rest of the upper is made up of a cream mesh that has the same pattern & feel as the OG V6 as well. Overall, I feel like the choice of the materials & the placement of the colors worked together very nicely.

Comfort/Sizing: When I think of fuelcell, I imagine a very bouncy & responsive ride, but for ME, this had a perfect mixture of stability & bouncy & they really did an amazing job. Idk how they did it, but I find the 990v6 way more comfortable than the v5. The best way I could describe it, is imagine a V3 or fuelcell model & add stabilization and that is to me is the v6. In terms of sizing I got these in a 7.5 & they fit me perfectly. Essentially, stick to your same 990 sizing.

Overall Opinion: As I mentioned previously, this is my personal favorite out of the entire Grey Day pack & was a big upgrade from a quality standpoint to the v4 I received. The colorblocking works together really well & gives it a really subtle & clean aesthetic, making it a really versatile sneaker. Regarding the model, the V6 is a simple, clean & comfortable silhouette. I personally feel like the V6 is an easy choice to throw on if I knew I was going to be on my feet all day. Overall, NB did a great job on this colorway & if you slept on this pair, they have been hitting the sale rack lately, so don't sleep on a good price.

If you made it this far, thank you for taking time out of your day to read my thoughts on this sneaker.
