Nike Air Max 1 'Crepe Hemp'
Stunning. IMO, this was the most slept on GR's of 2022. Tbh, this sneaker is better in hand than it is in photos. I tried to bring out the features in the photos, but this sneaker is truly gorgeous.
Materials: I truthfully can't complain when it comes to materials on this design. On the toe cap heading to the heel, you have this dark brown suede that has a somewhat soft feel to it. Tbh it almost feels somewhat like felt, but softer. Next up would be the teal swoosh which I feel adds a nice color contrast with the shades of brown. The majority of the upper is a hemp material that kinda reminds me of a wicker hemp basket that I had in childhood, but is soft to touch, not like the basket lol. I will say my favorite material is the tan/mocha brown nubuck on the sides. It is very soft to touch and has a really nice color change while brushing across it. Last thing to note is the sole, it is the same sort of Crepe sole that you'd see on a Clark's Wallabee. In short, this was a beautiful execution.
Comfort: the air max 1 is one of my favorite silhouettes. It has a classy look to it that I love & would prefer to wear if I were headed somewhere nice. On foot, it has a nice mixture of firmness while also giving you a nice squishy support that makes these a very easy choice to wear all day without any discomfort. In terms of sizing, I grabbed these in a size 8 and I personally feel like these fit me perfectly.
Overall Opinion: this might upset some people, but I honestly prefer this over the OG. Tbh, it's pretty mind-blowing to me that this design just sat on release day, because this might be one of my favorite air maxes to come out this year. The materials feel high quality, the colorway is beautiful, & given that it's an AM1, it would be an easy choice to add to the collection. If you slept on this colorway, I personally wouldn't, but tbh it's cheaper on apps than boutiques. I got lucky and was able to grab from kith, so thank you
