PACE x Asics Gel Quantum 360 VIII ‘The Brismo’

At first glance, this sneaker looks crazy. When they showed initial product images, I was pretty interested to see how the execution came out in hand. It honestly reminds me of some sort of futuristic space product.

Materials: they honestly packed this model with a ton of detail. The upper is a big hole mesh, with a ripstop grid pattern overlay (similar to above the clouds 2160). On the mesh they added the PACE logo near the toe & on the medial side, they put GEL near the back heel. On the stripes & toe cap, they used a shiny pebbled cream leather. I will say the most unique feature is the wrap around lacing system. It reminds me a lot of other trail runners, however, I will say bc I have a high arch, it was sort of time consuming to loosen up the sneaker to get it to fit comfortably. Lastly, on the back heel they added 2 strips that you can clip the 2 shoes together or keep it in the ✖️ pattern.

Comfort/Sizing: this model is pretty comfortable given it has gel throughout the entire midsole. It's not overly squishy, but it has a nice supportive feel on foot that would be pretty easy to wear out all day. The lacing system adds another layer of support to these & helps your foot feel very locked in. In terms of sizing, I would stick with your tts. If you have a wide foot, I'd go up a half size due to the lacing system.

Overall Opinion: I feel like they pushed the boundaries with this design. I like how they paid homage to their roots and gave this model an entirely new look from the typical designs that we see nowadays. I feel like the finished product speaks a lot about the level of creativity that went into this design. My only gripe would be the lacing system, in concept, it's a great idea, but functionally, for wide feet or high arch people, it's time consuming to loosen. Overall, I feel like this is one of the more creative designs we've seen this year. Even with all the details, it still makes out to be a pretty clean colorway.

If you made it this far, thank you for taking time out of your weekend to read my thoughts. Thank you for the continued support & I hope you have a good week
