Sean Wotherspoon x Adidas Orketro

Sean Wotherspoon x Adidas Orketro

I was pretty excited to pick these up, idk what it is about this sneaker but I really love the design and aesthetic that Sean went with on these.

Materials: the choice of materials is probably my favorite part of this collab because there are so many unique layers to it. On the toe there is a canvas-like material that wraps around the upper as well as on the 3 stripes. The canvas has this subtle fraying at the end of it that gives it a somewhat jagged/natural cutting pattern. In the toe box, there is a green SW Signature that is embroidered on top of the mesh. There is also a thick blue embroidery that wraps around the entire upper & stops by the ankle on both sides. Lastly, I don't feel like this would be a SW Collab w/o his use of corduroy. Rather than metal eyelets or the usual plastic like material on the tongue he replaced it with a soft grey/black corduroy. I feel like Sean took a model that I normally would overlook & added a fun & exciting twist to it.

Comfort/Sizing: imo, this is a pretty comfortable model. It has the right mixture of squishy comfort while also having a nice stable feel to it. I personally have been wearing these multiple days in a row & can say they have a slight break in period, but are also pretty comfy straight out of the box. In terms of sizing, I grabbed these in an 8 & they fit perfectly. I personally would recommend going tts.

Overall Opinion: I think Sean had an awesome execution on this design. From the choice of materials to the colorblocking, I personally think this is one of his best designs since signing onto Adidas. I love his "no waste" theme that he adds into his designs & i feel that his designs have always been exciting to see how the sneaker will age overtime. This sneaker was on my must-cop list this month so I'm really grateful to have been able to grab them on confirmed. Based on his leaks, it looks like Sean & Adidas are going to have a strong 2023.
