Song for the Mute x Adidas Adistar Cushion
SFTM really deserves a lot more credit than they get. Back in 2022, they put out a pair of Adidas Shadowturf in a 'Honeycomb' colorway & I remember seeing those & they immediately caught my eye. Needless to say, come drop time, they literally flew off the website š (luckily they have recently brought that pair back) That design came out around the same time as the Hal Studios 1130 'Earth' colorway & those 2 shoes won me over that year 100%.
Since that design they've had a couple more great collabs w/ adidas on the Country OG & the Campus, but the work they did on this pair really stood out to me & reminded me a lot of when I first saw that Shadowturf design. I really wanted to capture the subtle details & beauty of the design in a post bc I feel like a decent amount of folks slept on these & they got buried under recent drops.
SFTM is a brand that has been able to deconstruct a product & build it back up in a way that you rarely see from a collaborator, whether it's their clothing or their shoes, they do a really nice job. Tbh, it's refreshing to see creativity in collabs & SFTM has always been a brand I caught my eye on.
Mini review for sizing & comfort:
for sizing: go tts, even with wide feet.
comfort: pretty firm out of the box, will require a short break in period.
