Todd Snyder x New Balance M992TA
I remember when these leaked, I wanted them SO badly lol. I know for myself, when I see any form of a Grey New Balance, I immediately want to buy it. For me, given the fact that this was the last 992 collab for a while and it was based around a grey design made it a must cop.
Materials: the materials were pretty nice overall. The suede has a very soft feeling to touch, and the vegtan material is also very soft and is honestly my favorite characteristic in terms of quality of materials used in this collaboration. I think if I were to describe the quality of suede used in comparison to another collab I would say it is on par with the WTAPS 992. The tongue consists of the same suede used throughout the sneaker with a hit of vegtan where the 992 logo is on the tongue. The other parts of the sneaker are pretty similar to what you see on the majority of other 992's with the usual mesh material and the hits of 3M.
Comfort: these are no different than other 992's, they have the perfect mixture of being squishy and giving that firmness that makes it an easy sneaker to wear all day. To me, this model becomes even more comfortable the more you wear it. In terms of sizing, I went down a half size in this pair and I have a slight amount of room in the toe box. If I could compare sizing to another 992 collaboration, I would say it's similar to the Kith 992 and Concepts 992. With that being said, even if you have a wider foot, I would still say to go down a half size.
Overall Opinion: Personally I really enjoy this collab. Imo, it's very simple and it pays homage to Todd Snyder's Anniversary, along with it being a grey New Balance, and the last 992 to release for a while as mentioned in Todd Snyder's article. I personally feel like this was the perfect closing to the years of incredible collaborations that we have received over the past couple of years. I almost imagine this as a soft goodbye and an ending of a chapter in New Balance's book until we see them again.
If you took time out of your night to read my thoughts, I just want to thank you for the continued love and support. Without your votes, your comments, and you sharing your thoughts, these reviews would not exist. So thank you for the continued support. With that being said, I am very honored to announce that I will now be writing reviews for @epsilonmagazine as well as posting them on this page. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.
