Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoes

I have always wanted to own a Tom Sachs collab/Mars Yard but prices have always been pretty outrageous. I don't know if it's marketing or what Tom stands for, but it always makes me just want to beat a pair of sneakers lol. I saw these leak awhile ago and I told myself I wouldn't sleep this time, so I went ahead and grabbed these early so I knew I had my pair and could worry about the actual release later on.

Materials: the materials used on this sneaker are nice. It has areas around the toe, heel, and eyelets that use this premium suede. If I were to compare it to another Nike model, I would say it is somewhat similar to the suede used on the Fragment/Sacai in terms of softness but the suede is not as hairy. The uppers consist of a type of durable feeling mesh that is very breathable on foot. Finally, the tongue consists of this thin padding, but is pretty comfortable on foot.

Comfort/Sizing: I have been wearing these almost everyday since they came in so I would be able to give an honest review on them. I will say, straight out of the box it had a pretty firm support, but after a few hours of wearing them, they began to break in and became very comfortable and squishy. If I were to compare them to a New Balance, I would say they're similar to a 327. I would say based on wearing these all day for days, this is a sneaker that could easily be worn all day without any discomfort. In terms of sizing, I purchased an 8M/9.5W, and I will say that I probably could've gotten away with a 7.5M/9W for a more snug fit, which is my preferred fit. I have no heel slippage in my pair, it just has a tiny amount of room in the toe.

Overall Opinion: I think what I really enjoy about Tom Sachs collabs is that most of them look pretty minimalistic. Idk if it's Tom's marketing of wearing your shoes or the wear tester program, but it just really makes me want to wear them into the ground. I think this is a perfect everyday shoe, and given the fact that it's called the 'General Purpose Shoe' I can say it's pretty spot on. I think to wrap up, I have always wanted one of his collabs and the Mars Yard is a shoe that I hope one day I can find at a decent price in my size, but for now, this will do for me.

If you made it this far to read my thoughts on the sneaker, I want to thank you for taking time out of your weekend to read my thoughts and I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for the continued love and support and I hope you have a good rest of your weekend.
