When I first saw the rollout for this design, I was pretty excited. I'm big on outdoors & hiking personally & tbh these were giving me some ACG vibes with the vibrant colors & outdoorsy feel to the overall design.

Materials: imo, YCMC had a great choice of materials along with their keen attention to detail that went into the design. The majority of the upper is made up of an army green long hair suede, which imo, is much softer than the made pairs we have seen on the Teddy pairs. My favorite part of the design is the embroidered 990 near the back heel and I believe it adds a premium touch to the overall design. Another thing to note is the mesh that was used, it looks similar but is more breathable & thinner than your normal V3 mesh. Last things to mention would be the pops of color that give the outdoorsy vibe. You have the orange hits on the NB logos and this speckled teal on the encap design. Overall, I really enjoyed the materials used on this sneaker.

Comfort/Sizing: imo, the 990v3 is very squishy on foot as you stand in place but also has a slight firmness to it as well. It's a very easy sneaker to wear all day without any discomfort. In my experience, I recommend going down a half size in the 990v3. Imo, this shoe fits me perfectly in a size 7.5 and definitely wouldn't recommend going any other size

Overall Opinion: YCMC has been doing an excellent job in terms of collabs. They've been doing things differently than other designers that I've seen lately. From the neutral grey V3 that changes given the light, to the v4 they did years ago (grail) & now bringing in an outdoorsy/ACG vibe V3. I feels this speaks volumes to the complete range that their design team is capable of achieving & following that up with a successful outcome is beautiful. I personally feel that this V3 is a nice change to the previous green v3's we have seen recently and in hand is much nicer than you'd expect. I feel like a lot of people slept on this Collab, just like they did on their previous Collab & now look at it. If you did sleep & are on the fence, I would personally cop.
