A Ma Maniere x Nike Air Max 95
I feel like these had a lot of hate for no reason tbh lol. When initial photos rolled out, I was stoked to see AMM was able to put their spin on the 95 model & imo, they did a nice job on these, materials & all. Ty @excusemejayburnz for helping make this review possible 🏆🙏
Materials: contrary to what folks are saying, the bottom 2 panels are made of a deep 💜 & dark 🩶 leather. Following that panel is a nubuck panel in the same shade of 🩷 as what they used on their 4s that dropped. Following that panel is a 🩶 nubuck, then a 💜 panel with perforations t/o it. Lastly on the eyelets, it transitions back to the deep 💜 leather, that’s similar to the toe cap. The leather and nubuck used is really nice quality & even the leather used has a nice grain to it. Each panel is separated by a zig-zag embroidery that almost looks as if the entire body of the shoe is fused together as one, (at least until you get to the top 2 panels, it kinda naturally dips). For branding, there's a laser etched AMM logo on the toe cap & on the medial side of the heel counter is more etching, but with the A monogram. Moving to the back heel, there’s a 3m panel with a large A logo debased into it & a Nike Air logo at the top. On the tongue, they used a 🩶 leather on it, then added an AMM patch at the top. Moving to the interior, there’s a leather sock liner, followed by an A Monogram pattern t/o the insole & the inner side of the tongue. Lastly, for the midsole, it has a matte 🖤 finish to it, rather than a flat 🖤 texture & on the underside of the outsole, there’s more of their signature monogram pattern. Overall, I feel like a lot of folks slept on these & I could definitely see folks regretting it later on down the line.
Comfort/Sizing: the AM95 is one of my personal favorite models in the AM archive. I personally find it really comfortable and prefer to wear these over AM models. They have a really responsive feel, while also having a squishy feeling on feet. For sizing, these have less padding than most 95s, so I would recommend going tts bc of that.
Overall Opinion: Overall, I feel like this pair is pretty nice. My only gripe is on the right pair’s logo on the toe is hard to see the wording on the etching, but my left pair is fine. The quality was really nice on these & I’m a little surprised how critical folks were of these given the corteiz 95 was a SOTY for a lot of folks & it was an all leather 95 lol. To each their own, but I think AMM did a nice job & I’m happy with my purchase.
