COSTS x Saucony Kinvara 4 'Meteorite Sand'
Following the previous release with COSTS & Saucony, they followed it up w/ another Kinvara 4 & went all out in these. The details on these truly play into the space like aesthetic that falls in line w/ the meaning behind the shoe. Once again, thank you @costs__official & @skychen8899 for sending these over. I really appreciate you reaching out for this beautiful pack.
Materials: starting at the mudguard, there's a grey nubuck panel w/ COSTS branding on the ⬅️ pair & the S logo on the ➡️ pair. The base layer of the shoe feels like a fusion of ripstop & canvas material. I've never seen this used on an upper tbh lol, but it looks & feels really durable & breathable. What I really like about this upper is that it has a grey embroidery w/white dots that moves t/o the toe box & reminds me a lot of stars & the pattern folks use when mapping out the stars like the little dipper & so on. Continuing the space theme, on the 3 rivers logo has a iridescent/pearl-like panel that wraps around the logo. Following the logo is a 3m panel found on both sides & also on the tongue. Moving to the heel counter, there's a dark olive nubuck with Saucony branding followed by a 🖤 pull tab. Something I found really unique is the entire sneaker has a clay dust effect to it, as if you went to a baseball field & ran around (or Mars if you wanna stay on theme 🫣). Lastly, for branding, there's a costs logo on the ➡️ tongue & Saucony on the ⬅️ pair & the branding switches for the insoles. Overall, COSTS did an incredible job on these & honestly this entire pack was excellent.
Comfort/Sizing: the Kinvara 4 has a soft & squishy feel to it that requires a short break in period. Once broken in, it's very comfortable & has a somewhat firm, yet plush feeling on foot. For sizing, I received these in a US 8 & they fit me perfectly, but they are a tad narrow on the sides. I'd recommend tts, but for wide foot folks, go half up.
Overall Opinion: COSTS continues to put out some incredible designs & honestly built off the previous design in a beautiful way. My favorite part of this design is the embroidery on the upper that pays homage to the stars bc it's a very unique design feature that shows the creative ability from the COSTS team. I personally wouldn't pass on this pair come release day, which is dropping on November 9th, exclusively at COSTS.
