Bodega x Asics Gel Kayano 20 'Small Wins Add Up'

The story behind this pair is that small wins add up & I'm grateful to be a part of this project bc Bodega was 1 of the 1st few companies to support what I do when my page began growing. This collab feels like a full circle moment for me, & it's cool bc Bodega's message for these is that every play counts & to take it step by step until you get where you're meant to be.

Materials: starting w/ the mesh, it has a really unique 4 dot pattern inside of a 💠 shape that reminds me of knit blanket with the little patterns t/o it. The shade of the mesh is a greyish/white hue to it & is my favorite feature on this pair. On the mudguard is a greyish-tan (almost oatmeal) panel that carries t/o the majority of the panels on the upper. Beneath the paneling is an oatmeal cage for added structure. At the end of the 🩶 stripes is a GEL KAYANO 20 logo in 🟡 & below that 🟡 hit is a subtle BODEGA logo that almost blends into the upper. On the back heel is more GEL branding w/ each letter in a neon circle w/ a magenta border. Midway thru the back heel the mesh changes to a dark 🩶 circular patterned mesh that ends on the medial side by another set of 🟡 bordered stripes (also on the tongue). Moving to the midsole, there's a speckled 🤍/🩶 midsole with clear 🍏 gel pods on top of a gum bottom. & Lastly, the sockliner is a neon 🟡 hit with a wavy 💎 pattern followed by a bodega & Asics branded insole w/ a circular pattern t/o it. Overall, this looks like a subtle cw at first glance, but it has a ton of little details that are almost hidden in plain sight.

Comfort/Sizing: the Kayano 20 is similar to the 14, but imo, more squishy & a little more forgiving from a width & length perspective. Now with that being said, go tts as well, even for the wide footers.

Overall Opinion: bodega is known for packing a ton of details into their designs, but it always flows perfectly & they do it again here. I personally really like this design & w/ the lace swap it really contrasts the neon hits nicely (slide 5&6). For those looking to pick these up, they're releasing on 9/12/24 at @bodega locations & also online. GL 🍀
