Futura x Nike SB Dunk Low
Tbh, this is my favorite design that Futura has put on his SB designs to date. I really feel like photos don't even do this shoe justice & is a pair that you need to see in hand, & as of now, this is in my top 3 for 2024 🤷🫣.
Materials: the base layer of this SB is a thick, white mesh that is similar to the mesh used on the infrared dunks back in 2020. The rest of the upper is a thick, aqua blue canvas with Futura's graffiti in multiple shades t/o it. The canvas & graffiti is Futura's nod to the iconic Paris dunk. On the back heel, you'll see Futura's Signature however, on the medial side is FL (Futura Laboratories) in white. The swoosh is a dark teal suede that feels okay to touch, but nothing crazy. On the medial side of the right shoe is a cream embroidered design. My favorite part is the laces, which are a two tone lace in teal & blue (the same shade of blue is also used on the sockliner). On the tongue, there's a purplish/pink border around the tongue w/ more futura & Nike SB branding on a teal tongue tab. Lastly, the insole has more of his signatures t/o it, as well as on the outsole hidden beneath an icy, see-thru blue outsole. Overall, there was a TON of details put into these, but the way the colors on the canvas work is beautiful.
Comfort/Sizing: the Sb Dunk Low is a very flat to the ground sneaker w/ some extra padding (for impact when skating or if you land primo 🫠) I personally find sbs more comfortable than regular dunks, but they're pretty similar. For sizing, I received these in an 8.5 (half up) & definitely would NOT recommend going tts at all. The 8.5 fits my feet perfect, so go half up minimum.
Overall Opinion: this sneaker honestly feels like an art piece. The blue base with the different shades used in the graffiti makes this such a beautiful design in hand. The more I looked at these, the more I just stared in awe by all the unique hits that were added on. I definitely understand why folks are saying this is their SOTY, & can confirm for myself, this will end up in the top 3 for me.
