Minted NY x Saucony ProGrid Triumph 4
Something I feel like is super dope about Saucony is that they give folks like Jae Tips, Minted & Claima, who either haven't had a sneaker collab or are newer to it, & let them really come out in shine. They give them a canvas where they can go all out & proudly rep their story & w/ these you'll see that same narrative. From the story, to the card, to the packaging, you can tell he poured his heart into this shoe & tbh, that's how collabs are supposed to be 👏.
Materials: the base layer of this model is a cream-ish/white big hole mesh that has a contrasting pattern underneath that creates a salt & pepper effect if that makes any sense lol. The majority of the paneling is a metallic silver TPU panel with grey lines t/o to give the panels more character. Underneath the toe cap there's a light brown nubuck strip, which is also on the side panel and at the base of the laces. The Saucony logo is a brushed silver color with green inlays t/o it. As for branding, near the back heel there's a green capsule w/ 'Minted' on the right pair & 'New York' on the left. On the tongue tag, the left shoe says saucony, w/ 'loyal to the sport' at the very top of the tag. On the right shoe you'll see Minted & his signature phrase that he uses on his jackets that says 'City of Dreams'. Overall, I feel like he really added his spin on this design & added another beautiful collab in the Saucony library.
Comfort/Sizing: this model is pretty comfy & feels more squishy on foot than the Omni Grid 9. For comparison, these feel plush & bouncy on foot, similar to the 2002r & like models. For sizing, I went up a half size from my tts (8
5) , I have gone tts in the model b4 & personally wouldn't recommend it bc it's very tight.
Overall Opinion: like stated previously, something about this design just gives off the vibe that a lot of time, hard work, & dedication went into this design. Just like Claima, I feel like this is just the beginning for the legacy his brand carries in terms of collabs & I look forward to seeing more. I wouldn't sleep come the WW release day, May 31st, 2024. Good luck to all going for them 🤞🏆
