Paperboy Paris x Beams x New Balance 920
I feel like it's really tough to pick my favorite out of this pack tbh. Beams x Paperboy had an incredible execution on both of the 1500 & 920. Imo, this is one of the best mismatched Collabs I have seen in a really long time.
Materials: this shoe is honestly gorgeous in hand. The materials feel very premium & the suede used feels very soft to touch and has a nice color change while brushing your finger across it. The white mesh used has the wider hole mesh that makes the shoe feel more premium and comfortable on foot. On the upper there are these brushed metallic panels that honestly have this soft & smooth feel to touch. Lastly, on the tongue it is primarily mesh, with a soft, grey suede with embroidery that is mismatched with Beams & Paperboy.
Comfort/Sizing: the 920 model is very comfy imo. Given the fact that it uses the same technology as the 990v3, you will have a similar feeling on foot. Imo, the 990v3 is a little bit more firm around the foot, while the 920 feels a little looser while walking, if that makes any sense lol. In terms of sizing, I went tts in my pair (size 8). The model fits me from a width perspective but I do have a little room in the toe personally. I have never owned a 920 in a size 7.5 but the 8 is manageable for me.
Overall Opinion: imo, this and the 1500 are probably one of my favorite collabs this year. The materials are very premium, the 920 is comfortable, and I love how subtle the mismatch is. I feel overall Beams & Paperboy really did an incredible job with this pack. If I had to pick between the two, I would choose the 1500. I like the 1500 more from a colorway perspective but for comfort I would chose the 920. If you slept on this pack, I honestly wouldn't & I will be on the hunt for the 1500 in the near future.
