Salomon ACS Pro Advanced
I remember seeing these on IG awhile ago and I honestly feel it was something different than almost anything that is currently on the market that I've been interested in. I know for me after trying the XT-2 and falling in love with it, I had to give these a try as well.
Materials: The majority of the sneaker is made up of a mesh, rubber, and a type of durable synthetic. The toe box has this tough rubber surrounding the sides going around your toes that almost acts as a buffer if you were to hit your toe on a rock while hiking in them. There is this synthetic material that wraps around certain parts of the sneaker that feels pretty smooth to touch, but more durable if anything. The mesh on the toe has a nice padded feeling, while on both sides under the cage, it exposes a thin and very breathable mesh. Lastly, the laces are made of this strong lace and lacing system making it very easy to adjust to your preferred tightness. The top of the tongue has a little Salomon logo on top of a velcro pouch where you can hide the lace lock if you wanted to.
Comfort/Sizing: out of the box it has a firm support to it, but as you break it in, it becomes much softer and becomes quite comfy. When comparing it to other Salomon models, it is very comfortable but it is more firm than the XT Wings 2 and it also has less arch support. I will say that I can easily wear this model on a hike or walking around the city all day without any discomfort at the end of the day. In terms of sizing, this model is wider than the XT series, but imo, Salomon models are sort of long, so I would almost recommend going down a half size given the width and extra length in my size 8. If you have a wider foot, I would recommend just sticking tts.
Overall Opinion: This is a beautifully executed sneaker in hand. I feel like it is something different than the majority of sneakers that are currently on the market. Aesthetically, it's gorgeous and looks beautiful in photos & in hand/on foot. I feel like Salomon pushed the boundaries with the design on this sneaker & did so in the perfect way. Given the aesthetics, comfort, and overall durability of the materials, this sneaker is great for almost every occasion. If you're on the fence and you can find a pair at a decent price, grab it
