Travis Scott x Jordan 1 Low OG 'Canary Yellow'
I haven't seen so many different takes on a pair of TS lows & I think it's dope to see brands branch out & do something different every once in awhile. With this pair paying homage to Travis' HS colors, Elkins High, & the fact that the entire graduating class was gifted a pair of these made it feel like one of the more meaningful designs he's made. Materials: this is where this pair really shines in material quality. Starting at the toe box, you have a premium yellow nubuck that wraps around the toe cap, heel counter, & the back heel. The Nubuck is soft to touch & has a nice color change when brushing across. Next up, the cream-ish leather (has a greyish tint) t/o the upper has a nice tumbled feel to it & you'll see they used this leather is in the toe box & also on the side panels. Moving to the Swoosh, is a blue, tumbled leather that feels pretty nice as well. On the tongue, you'll find his signature cactus jack patch & Nike Air tag stitched into the canary yellow tongue. Regarding branding, on the left heel, you'll see the TS face logo in white embroidered into the tag. On the insoles, you'll find more TS logos that have become his Signature on his lows. I did use the laces from my mocha lows in this shoot after seeing someone throwing them in (if you know who it was, lmk so I can tag), but they come stock with yellow laces & ♥️ & 💙 spares. Overall, he did a pretty nice job w/ the materials.
Comfort/Sizing: the AJ1 low, is a pretty flat to the ground sneaker w/ minimal padding & is a great pair for a throw on & go on shorter trips, but I usually swap insoles & they're a lot more comfy. For sizing, I always go tts (US 8) in my AJ1 lows & have never had any issues, go with your standard sizing.
Overall Opinion: I feel like it's dope that he made a low that was dedicated to his HS & even more so that he blessed the whole class. I feel like he usually always uses premium materials & these are pretty nice too. In closing, this isn't my personal favorite, but it will be a great shoe for summer if you're looking for one.
