Post Archive Fashion x On Cloudmonster 2
When these first leaked, I was really impressed with the overall design bc it took a normal Cloudmonster 2 & beefed it up into something that was sleek & aesthetically pleasing. On designs already give me a futuristic & tech-like vibe, but PAF added in their unique design language, & the outcome was a Cloudmonster 2 w/ the perfect mix of a gorp-core & futuristic aesthetic.
Materials: the upper of this sneaker is pretty nuts, so bare w/ me while writing this. Starting at the toe cap, there's a tough rubber cap in a moon-dust shade that wraps around the entire sneaker & creates a smooth S wave on the medial side of the toe cap that finishes off at the top of the lace cage. The toe box has a soft, but durable nylon cover that rests above the chalk colored mesh & acts like a 2nd layer. On the medial side of these & also on the tongue, you'll see more exposure of the mesh, but it's made w/ 2 different patterns, one is a lined pattern & the other looks like a 🏈. The mesh used is very breathable on foot & due to the materials & outsole, this sneaker is extremely light in hand. Lastly, the branding... There are scattered 3M 'ON' logos on the back heel & toe. Also on the back heel is their signature swiss cross with swiss engineering underneath. && Finishing off the branding with the PAF logo on the left insole & ON Cloudmonster on the right. Overall, this is a pretty crazy design & PAF nailed it.
Comfort/Sizing: the cloudmonster 2 is a pretty comfortable shoe on foot. It has a bouncy/responsive & sponge-like feel to it that feels really nice on foot. In terms of sizing, On is a bit narrow, so I usually go up a half size in my pairs. For this pair I went half up (US 8.5) from my tts (US 8) & I honestly think tts would have been fine, so go tts.
Overall Opinion: this may be my most anticipated pickup this year bc they originally leaked over a year ago at PFW but the release was pushed back. I'm really glad that I'm able to add these to my collection bc it really is a great design. From what I've seen, they have more pairs releasing soon & I can't wait, don't sleep on these fr.
