Verdy x Nike SB Dunk Low
This pair really caught my eye when they initially rolled out the leaks that Verdy had another SB otw. I was a big fan of his Wasted Youth SB that he put out a couple years back & this pair reminded me a lot of the papa bear/grateful dead pairs that released in the past, but I was never able to grab them, so I was really lucky to be able to pick these up for my daughter & myself. Materials: starting at the mudguard, there's a baby blue suede w/ striped imprints that from a far look a lot like corduroy. On the toe, side panels, & tongue, there's a light teal fuzz, similar to what you would find on a teddy bear. There's more of this fuzz that can be found on the back heel, but that area is in a light pink color. Also on the back heel is a baby blue suede tab, but the print 'Nike' is done using Verdy's signature font. My favorite part of this design is how Verdy used his placement of the branding. On the tongue tab, you'll find a Nike SB tongue tag w/ Verdy beneath it, & then on the reverse side you'll find Verdy's Visty as a logo on the back tag. Then moving to the insole, you'll find a larger print of Verdy's Visty character doing a heel flip resting above the Nike SB logo. This is small but I wanted to mention, the interior has more padding on the ankle collar area that I don't have on any of my other Sbs & it feels a bit more cozy. Overall, I feel like this was a pretty unique design, & the placement of the colors flow with the design nicely. I lowkey wanna trim down the fuzz similar to my daughter's pair, but we'll see, I kinda like it as it is.
Comfort/Sizing: the SB Dunk has a flat to the ground feel to stay true to it's purpose as a skate shoe & provide board feel. The padding adds a decent amount of comfort, but this wouldn't be my first pick for all day wear. For sizing, I go tts, unless it's the OG shape, but for these, I bought these in my tts they fit perfectly.
Overall Opinion: there were about 3 SB's that really caught my eye at the beginning of the year & this pack was 1 of those pairs. They were super unique in hand & the extras that were added in made these fun for my daughter & I to open up. She loved these & wanted to take some special pics with me while wearing them, which inspired this set. Thank you for the continued support. Much love đź’•
