New Balance 990v3 by Teddy Santis
First impression online is that it really looked beautiful in photos. I really loved that it had that little cream hit on the midsole like you see on jjjjound 990v3 and on the Kith Genesis. I think this was perfect that it released going into summer given that it’s an all white sneaker.
Materials: imo, the materials are nice, it’s very similar to the leather that is used on the M992EC. The leather on the upper on the medial and lateral side reminds me a lot of the leather that was used on dunks back when Nike put high quality leather on them back in 2020. I don’t think it’s bad at all when you compare it to the majority of brands quality of materials that they put on their GR’s. The toe cap and heel have a different and higher quality of leather than what is on the majority of the sneaker and it has an almost cream shade look to it. The mesh consists of the same kind of materials that you see on the majority of 990v3’s. Overall, I think the quality is good given the fact that it is a General Release.
Comfort/Sizing: imo, the 990v3 is very squishy on foot as you stand in place but also has a slight firmness to it as well. It's a very easy sneaker to wear all day without any discomfort. In my experience, I recommend going down a half size in the 990v3. I think if I would have gone tts, it would still fit, it would just be slightly large. The size 7.5 fit, but was a little snug on the tip of my toes.
Overall Opinion: this sneaker is nearly identical to the thisisneverthat 2002r imo. I think the fact that it’s an all white sneaker, this model is going to get a lot of wear out of it. The materials are nice for a GR but not the best that I have seen in the past from NB, but still better than the majority of brands pumping out GR’s. If I had to pick a favorite between the v2 and these, I would go v2 again lol. Something about the v2’s he’s done have just really stood out for me.
